Hey there! I’m Mike Magliocca, an actor and fight director living and working in New York.
Born to a blue collar family in a little town called Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, I stumbled into acting - and the Big Apple - through the insatiable joy I found in storytelling. My ambitions grew with my imagination and landed me on this path: a golden retriever with a stick in my mouth and a need to play.
Along the way I fell in love with fight direction as a medium of telling stories of humans at their most violent and most vulnerable. I constantly grapple with questions of What happens when words fail? Are images of violence or intimacy necessary to express a particular moment? If so, how can we do so in a way that reveals a truth about humanity?
I am currently finishing my MFA in Acting at Brooklyn College and looking forward to diving back into the industry with some fresh training and a renewed sense of purpose. If you’ve got a good story to tell, I’d love to join you on your next project, so hit the contact button below and let’s get started!
